I've seen Scott Slobodian's work and i know most of his finishes are made with a superglue polish. How is such a polish done?

I was able to talk to SS when he was attending the BAKCA show in San Francisco. He told me that he applies the CA (super glue) with a disposable lint free cotton make up applicator. He builds up the finish in layers, and lightly sands between coats.

You get some pieces of thick, handpiece felt from marking methods, or one of the other etching machine companys. Soak one end with superglue, use the felt like a brush, it will not dry real fast in the felt, so you can put several fast coats on. When the felt starts to harden, just trim that section off the end and resoak with glue.
It works real well.

I use the medium density CA superglue and paint it on the way others have descibed. Just make sure your materials are clean, dry and dust free. This will not work on oily woods consistently, but is a quick and effective finish for porous dry woods like Wenge. Best of luck. Terry
