Superhydrophobic coating?

Do you guys think this would work on knives? If it prevents rust, keeps knives clean, and is safe to use with food, I think I'd be great. It would also have to be pretty durable and/or cheap and easy to recoat.

I've heard that companies are starting to offer this coating for cell phones as well. This would be my first choice - I've never ruined a knife by accidentally dropping it in water! :rolleyes:

There is a company called Liquipel that does that for phones,$59,,You do have to send it to them,,,I think its is warrantied for 2 years,,The phone is placed in an enclosure then a gas is injected which the enters the phone through open areas and envelopes electronic components
