Greetings all,

The local astronomy club had a late night hike to a local peak to take a look at the Super Moon event last night. This was one of the closest passes of La Luna in some time. It a was a 100% full moon, and the weather was quite clear. Getting away from local light interference certainly made it even more impressive. There wasn't much need for flashlights. The hike was a little more than expected, about 1.5 miles long, but it compressed about a 650 ft. feet elevation gain into two fairly short sections. But once at the top, it was worth it. It was also unseasonably warm, probably in the upper 60's at around 10 pm. You could have throw down a light sleeping back and slept nicely under the stars.

We also saw the international space station pass over and a shooting star. It was pretty nice.
