Which steel would you pick fo a 4" (100mm) fixed blade with a scandi grind, mainly used for bushcrafting, but also gonna be used for most camp task and maybe some food?

Choices are:

-Elmax
-CPM Cruwear
-CPM 3V
-CPM 4V
-Magnacut

Got a 3.75 inch scandivex bushcraft knife in magnacut and it's probably one of the best designed and most practical knives I own, it would still be a great knife in 3v or Cruwear but magnacut is really really nice for an outdoors knife just because of how stainless it is in combination with it's toughness, relative ease of sharpening and good edge retention.

Elmax for a smaller woods knife although none of the above would be my first choice (far from it) working with wood. I've worked with wood for 40 years and old is good re steels.

If this isn't hypothetical. How about White river puuko in s35. Only in stock super steel scandi I could find doing a quick search.

Any of those steels would do, and I'd probably have a hard time telling the difference. If I was ordering a custom bushcarft knife, I would go for 8670 -- rust isn't a big problem.

Yes.

(You have a list of great steels that will all work very well)
