...from Wallyworld. I was picking up some oil for an upcoming oil/lube/filter and I HAD to wander thru sporting goods.

They had them in stock - so after much internal debate I decided to pick one up.

I need another multi-tool like a pig needs lipstick.

It looks like they are now shipping these with what LM calls their "premium" sheath (pics from Amazon).

This is a heavy piece - I usually carry my Swiss Spirit or LM Charge AL, but the new toys have to get some carry time.

I am on the hunt for a better sheath - this one, albeit a little better than what they used to ship with, doesn't look like it will hold up for long.

My old Wave came with a leather sheath that was a good one - I wonder why LM doesn't partner up with a sheath maker and provide some better stuff??

Anyway - digging the pliers and replaceable wire cutters - in the past - this is where other multi tools of mine have failed.

If anyone has found a better sheath pls drop me a line - I'd prefer leather over nylon / kydex, etc.

The leatherman all nylon sheath is excellent, and can be bought on-line for under $10, with shipping.

BTW...I have (another...I'll now have 2 of 'em) LM Supertool 300 "on the way" from a trade I made here at BladeForums, and it is also coming with that darn LM leather/nylon "premium" sheath, but I have already ordered an all-nylon LM replacement sheath....Total price was $8.87, including First Class shipping & WA state sales tax. The all-leather LM sheath runs about the same price...Maybe $1 or $2 more...

I'll look into that other sheath option - I understand the ST300 EOM comes with the full nylon sheath which others have said they like.

I PM'd a link to you just now...

Get the Leatherman molle sheath. Light years ahead of anything else your gonna get, in my opinion!

I have two ST300's, one is Stainless finish and one is BO, the BO one of course came with the nylon sheath.

The best sheath that I have found that fits the ST300 great is the nylon sheath that came with my BO ST200.

It fits nice and snug and just too perfect to describe.

I recommend that you pick up a normal, pancake nylon sheath that was originally made for the ST200.

Just a follow up - my brown nylon LM sheath arrived today, along with a set of replacement cutter heads.

Man the sheath is BIG!! Much nicer than the stock one that came with the ST300 - there is no doubt that you are carrying a MT on your belt with this one.

Where did you order it? My fav leatherman dealer (eleatherman) has been out of commission for quite some time.

I like the large "Molle" sheath.

The bit extension would make the 300 a great all around tool with some extra bits. They do have the adaptor that slips over the flat blade screwdriver for bits. You can use an extender with it for reach.

sorry to derail but what bit extension? I never knew they existed for the 300. Also where do I get the replacement wire cutters?

Leatherman sells the replacement cutters. I corrected my post on the bit extension. I was actually talking about the adapter and not the extension that is available for the 300. The current bit extension does not work on the Supertool.

Just to keep this straight; what Leatherman refers to as a bit driver extension is for their Charge/Wave/Surge models with bit holders. A removable bit driver is offered that fits over the ST 300 ph screwdriver head, accepting both 1/4" bits and the flattened ones Leatherman provides. In addition to increased versatility, the accessory adds a bit of extension.

I was trying to say that the one that they call the bit extension is not for the Supertool 300, but the adaptor that was used on the Supertool 200, Surge, and others that do not have the large bit adaptor does work and can be used with an extension to use 1/4" bits which extends the ability of the tool.:)

With all of my blathering, it was hard to tell what the heck that I was trying to say!!

Tactical Taylor (Tailor?) makes a great sheath. Here is a pic with a Charge and a SOG Powerlock.

The Swiss Knife Shop is an excellent source for Leatherman stuff. I recently ordered a leather case for a Core from them and my ST-300 fits it perfectly. They also have replacement cutters for the Super Tool as well. Good web site, better customer service. Good luck.
