Am I the only one who prefers the older Supertool to the newer 200?
I don't have my original version here to compare with it, but my new 200 feels like it is much thicker and more bulky.
The sheath also feels massive in comparison to my original.
..and another thing, the lock release levers rattle.
Does anybody know the compared weights of these tools?
Does anyone have pics comparing the two?
Your thoughts please.......

If you are refering to the Victorinox Swiss Supertool, I have one of them, and am quite happy with it. I don't have any experience with the 200. I find that the access to the tools, while the thing is closed, is a great design. I really don't have any complaints about mine, and I haven't found reason to look at anything else...yet. Mine is still very tight, and smooth. I think it's one of the better-looking tools out there, as well.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I say. :D

I believe he's talking about the Leatherman versions. I too prefer the older Supertool to the newer 200 version. The new one is fatter and heavier than my old model. The new one has nice rounded thicker handles so they don't hurt your hand when you use it, but I've found that the old one has sharp, thinner handles that that don't hurt my hand when I use it, so the point is moot to me. I wish they'd stuck with the old one, but I have a backup in case mine ever goes AWOL.

I'm anxious to see their new stuff though. The Charge looks like it may be a suitable replacement for my old Supertool.

I've got the original Supertool as well. My only complaint is unlocking the blade. Not like it's all that difficult, but the release levers on the newer model 'seem' to be a bit more convenient. Having said that, I haven't used the new model, only handled one briefly so I'm going on assumptions here.

I have both and although the 200 has the more comfortable, rounded handles, and unlocks the tools easier, I also do not like the way the unlocking levers tend to rattle. The original just has a nicer feel to me, although admittedly, the Leatherman tools I carry on a daily basis are a Micra and an original-style PST in a horizontal Chris Reeve belt pouch.

Steven Andrews, No, you're not alone in your preferance for the original
Supertool. When the 200 hit the store shelves I tried one and then went
out and bought 3 more of original's to have as back up while I could still
find them!! My guess is,based on how fast the original disapperared from
the store shelves,is that we are not alone by a longshot in our preferance
for old dependable "original" Supertool. I'd also be willing to bet that's why
Leatherman cut it from the line up.............so they could sell the "improved"
model. (NOT!!!)
