I’m into doing a few basic handle replacements (done several and have a couple in the works) and wanting to get into disassembly of traditional slip joints to replace panels or repair. This will need some nickel and brass rod. And I need some brass/nickel/copper shim stock here and there. I have a schrade ph1 I’m thinking on and I’ll need some loveless pins for that when I get into it.

So my question is, what’s a good knife making supply store. I have looked at Jantz but I’ve not ordered from them. Is there better options?

Thanks for the heads up.

Jantz is good, specially if you're in OK... There are a bunch of knife supply stores out there.
Texas knifemakers supply
Alpha knife supply
Pops knife supply
Rio Grande is good for jewelry type supplies (silver wire etc)
McMaster-carr for tools, fittings etc...

Just Google "knife making supplies" and you'll get a half dozen hits.
You'll have to search around for the exact thing you're looking for, everybody specializes in something, and it seems there's no such thing as a one stop shop...

I'll add "K&G finishing supplies" to the list give them a call if you don't see what you're looking for.

Local weld store for TIG rod, gives you pin stock, brass, stainless steel and so on.

McMastercarr would do shim stock

I was ordering a few sheets of Rhynowet paper at a time and ran out yesterday.
Yesterday, Sunday, I ordered 50-sheet boxes from Red Label Abrasives in each of my main grits at a good price. By this morning they have already shipped with free shipping.

Thanks for the heads up for abrasives.

I normally use supergrit.com redhill corp for abrasives. Been using them for years for woodworking sandpaper. Small business and you can order 1 of something if that’s all you need. Glad to hear of another potential source.

Check Pop's knife supply (not a link, but will turn up link in search) for Rhynowet paper - seems to be one of the best prices around for 50 sheet packs. You can do a google search on "INDASA Redline XL RHYNOWET Sheets 9" X 11"" and several sources will pop up, Amazon which is a tad more expensive than Pop's.

Good eye, Pop's is about $5 per box cheaper than I paid. Close to even after shipping in my case.
