I am still assembeling my basic tools just to get started making some knives mostly for friends and family. I have a Burnzomatic jth-7 on the way and was wondering what gas would work best in a one brick forger. Also can anone sugest a good belt sander for a beginner with limited space. Thanks for the help.

The "search" function doesn't always work very well here, but, if you can get it to work, you'll find a ton of equipment advice for beginners. Regular old propane works fine with a one brick forge set-up. MAPP gas will also work, and get quite a bit hotter. Propane gets hot enough, though, and it's cheaper. You cab get a 1" x 30" belt sander from Harbor Freight for around $30 that doesn't take up much space and is a huge improvement over filing.

the 1X30 is nice but for a little more $$ you can upgrade to a 2X42 belt sander.
though if at all possible you should wait untill you can afford the grizzle knife grinder, decent machine, many people use em and find ways to modify them
and they're all one piece ready to go

Spend a few extra dollars and get the one with the 5" disc. The difference is usualy less than $10 It's usefull for things like making the face of handle material square where it meets the guard.
