In a related thread, the subject of how effective a "silencer" can be was brought up. This video of an Accuracy International .50 cal being fired with and without should clear up how far along "can" technology has come in the last few years. Very neat....enjoy!

Holy crap. That's pretty impressive. At my pistol range - we are across the valley from the rifle range and when someone's shooting a fifty you can really hear it ...rolling thunder.

Pretty impressive.

Although it does make me wonder if the middle hole in the test target was made by the bullet and the remainder of the holes by internal pieces of the suppressor. ;) :)

Is it just me or are the voices in the unsuppressed vid much louder than in the suppressed vid. Kinda sounds like the mic on the suppressed vid was covered some resulting in less noise...

One of the large companies (forget who) tested one of their .50 cal cans to 10,000 rds on a Ma Duece with no failure. ;)
FlaMtnBkr- Not sure on the vid, but having shot one, I can assure you it doesn't make enough noise to hurt the ears. Sounds alot like a .22 mag from behind the trigger.

i wonder how efficient that 50cal is with subsonics.. a truly silent suppressor has to be very very large to take care of all the gasses, still impressive i think you actually have to be there to make a good judgement, vids can be easily manipulated
