Which would make a better EDC, the E2 Executive or the 6P? Are the clips on the Executive series removable?

My $0.02 as a certified Flashlightoholic:

The E2 is marginally dimmer than a 6P but is smaller and has a longer runtime. This makes it a superior daily carry light. The clip is held in place by a single allen-headed screw.

I have a professional preference for the 6P - the older version - as I carried one for ten continuous years from 1989 to 1999. As revolutionary as that 6P was, the "new generation" 6P is even better with the new features. The only thing "old" about the current 6P is the moniker; everything else about it is state-of-the-art. I've not had any experience with the very popular E2. A very distinct advantage it has over the 6P is its reduced girth. One simply cannot go wrong with either.

Both products are powered by the sometimes illusive CR123(A) 3-volt Lithium battery. Two each for either light are required. Approximately one-hour of "run-time" is what is typically obtained from a set of CR123s, so carry spares always.

Hey kogatana,
I have the older style 6P.
Besides the clip, switch lock-out, and hex bezel, are there any other differences between the old and the new?
Thanks,
Lenny

The new 6P does not have a PocketClip.

That's the D2.

The differences between the old and new 6P

Significantly: LockOut TailCap
Anti-roll Hez Bezel style
different body design (shape I believe)

Now comes in either Black or "gun metal"

While ALL the surefire lights I've used are great, I've settled on the E2 for general EDC. Yeah, the 6p[6z] is SLIGHTLY brighter, the E2 is soooooo much easier to carry. Its just a bit thinner in Diameter, and it makes all the differnce in the world. The pocketclip works great, and it[the clip] has proven to be very durable.

Can't go wrong with the E2....

Yes the E2 is the better EDC. I'm going to wait until the E2e comes out to compare both. Until then I carry the M2 on my belt.

Why not move up to the SureFire 9P? It takes 3 Lithium batteries (rather than 2, so it's alittle longer), but it's alot brighter than the 6P, and can also be used as an impact weapon "in a pinch".

BTW...I'm looking for a 9P, so if anyone has one they'd like to trade for a Citizen Dive Watch, feel-free to email me.:).

The E2e will replace my E2 but it won't / can't replace my M2.
The Shock Absorbing Systems of the Millennium Series have my trust and respect.

The E2e may replace the likes of the 6P and D2 but each SureFire offers a different mix of tricks.

For example:
You can't weapon-mount an E Series light. The Z32 will allow any C, D, or Z (& even the G2) Series model to become a WeaponLight.

The E Series can be with you when other [larger] models would be out of place...
