I cut plastic bags for my wood pellets everyday, a standard non-serrated blade has to be very sharp, to pull this off, especially when plastic bunches up.
A few years ago, I had to cut over 1000 nylon web straps, nothing really worked for long, I started with new razor blades in a utility knife, and it was going slow. The cure,...a cheap kitchen serrated steak knife that I ran through the belt sander, it blew away the new razor blades, and I know next to nothing about knife sharpening. The key was the serrations, and the course grind causing mini serrations. Saved me a bunch of time.
