Anybody own one of these Surefire 6P LED lights?
How do you like it and are these made in the USA? I was interested in one due to the long run time and high lumen rating.thanks

I had a 9p, and compared to LED lights that are available now, they are over priced and under powered. No doubt some will say that they may have better knurling or better anodization, which arguably they may have.

i have a 6P that i outfitted with an cheap, "CREE" LED lamp assembly i bought off ebay for about 10 bucks. it is very bright (although certainly not the advertised 200 lumens) and functional. i don't know about the real surefire LED models, but the inexpensive upgrade worked for me just fine.

I got the sister model, the G2L. Absolutely astonishing performance compared to my old Surefire E2. Based on my experience with it, I would definitely recommend the 6PL.

I would check the Surefire website to find where they're made.

As far as I know, they are made in USA. I like mine alot. I also have the G2L as mentioned above. Both the 6PL and G2L use the same bulb assembly and one nice thing about them is the wide range of aftermarket LED "drop in" modules available for them. Surefire is also introducing a new drop in module as well, p61L, 200 lumens, I think.

I have the 6PL. It is fantastic and very bright. It compares well against my G3 although the G3 does have an edge in brightness and throw. According to some "torture tests" over on CPF, the P60L module used in the 6PL is also very durable and at least to some extent water resistant. The 6PL body is definitely water resistant. Now that the venerable P60 incandescent lamp now has an LED successor that works even better in runtime, brightness, and throw there is little reason to go for the older incandescent models besides price and color rendition. I would consider myself not a fan of the third party P60-compatible LED modules, as they very likely have not gone through the R&D and testing Surefire does, as well as possibly using too much current to the LED causing premature burnouts.

All Surefire lights are made in the USA.
