Got another Surefire today, the A2 Aviator with white LED's man what a beautiful light she is! The LEDs are nice and clear and light up a room pretty easy, press a little harder and you REALLY light up that room! Best of both worlds in a small, albeit expensive, package!

I still have my E2HA and my E1 and also an Inova X5 as well, never can have enough flashlights when power goes out as often as it has lately, plus my pocket always has my ARC "AAA".

Just wanted to share...very cool light!

How's that E2e with KL1? I'm thinking about picking up the KL1 at an upcoming gun & knife show.

Well they SURE are fine...;)
The only thing I'm thinking of is getting a VERY powerful one for when we get some nasty animals at my house, a while back a panther crossed our yard, almost forgot, I also have a very old 9P, that was what I used to light him up at over 200 feet away, a stronger light would have been nicer but that 9P did the job!

What's the biggest brightest sucker they have?

I am waiting for my E2e and the KL4 led head for it and that has the 5 watt white led in it and 65 lumens for one hour. So it will out perform the Mno3 with 60 lumens that comes in the new E2e. I have one more day to wait.

Brightest Surefire is the M6 (6xSF123A) or 10X (NiCD). The M6 with HOLA puts out 500 lumens in a somewhat tight beam. The 10X with the 110 lumens secondary lamp will put out well over 500 lumens (probably 550), but in a pattern that's more flood-like.

I've got them both and they should be illegal: they're too much fun to play with. I use the 10X more since it's rechargeable, but the M6 is more impressive, IMHO.

The L4 is also a nice light for general use. 5 watts, 65 lumens of regulated LED light.

The M6 is scary good, as well it should be for its price and appetite for batteries. I did not know I could control so much energy with one hand. It is so bright it should have recoil. If you can afford it, it is the ultimate in flashlight porn.

One caveat re legality, a lot of wildlife poachers are caught by aircraft that "spots" their lights. Light up a cougar with the M6 and they'll report you from the International Space Station.

I did have a "discussion" with my kid after she used it to look for stuff under her bed, which I'm betting melted in the process. And she complained cause the light got warm, the wimp;)

Just checked the tag on one...yikes, I'll wait for Sun up I think ;)

As to someone else using, my wife took my P9 out and was trying to find our lost kittens, the mother kept taking them off to hide across our road, so she sat for about 40 minutes with the light on all the time like a torch...hmm got warm and went dead...go figure? lol oh well, they don't get things like that, but they now know not to touch my flashlights, a little particular about them, they can use the Inova's as those are meant to be turned on and used for long periods of time but not the SureFires, well maybe the E1...for a bit...

Anyone know where there is a good place to pickup a Monster light?

There's a spotlight forum on CPF;)
I'd check out the Streamlight UltraStinger and theTigerlight, for a "normal" sized flashlight that's real bright, and has plenty of throw.
Plus they're rechargeables, so you're not going through 123s like candy.
I've got a UltraStinger, and love it. From what I've read, the Tigerlight sounds even better output-wise, but it's a chunky thing, and I don't like the placement of the switch.

That A2 is soooo tempting to me right now. I've been switching back and forth from E2E with the MN03, and the KL1. Used to carry the X5 along with the E2E/MN03, and it was a great combo. To basically have both in one light must be really

I already have an E2e with the GG&G TID (say that ten times fast! ) but I've been hoping to pick up another Surefire. I just can't decide between the A2 and the L4! :o

The KL1 is a very handy. Long battery life and a regulated beam. Beam is higher quality and brighter than my Inova and the regulation makes it reliable and consistant. A great backpacking flashlight.

Tigerlight isn't chunky at all. I have small hands and I was concered about it as well when I ordered it (its a little thicker than a mag d cell), but it fits in the hand great. Search and read for all the threads (one pops up about every week since people can't search) on rechargeable lights over on Candle Power Forums. The three lights that are in the same price range and have similar capabilities are MagCharger, UltraStinger, and TigerLight.

I obviously prefer the TL. Its guilt free fun...

If you have to decide between the M6 and 10X then with difficulty, I say get the M6 first as overall, I think people tend to enjoy it more.

If you want to weigh up the TigerLight 8" and the UltraStinger, then based on having both (and both costing £100), I say got for the TigerLight 8" - compared to it the UltraStinger sucks in many important ways.

But I suggest that you see to your SureFire addiction in this thread. I get the strong impression that any doctor would order you to get a high powered SureFire - if only for your health...

Al :D

I just got my E2e and the KL4 5 watt luxeon star led and there is very little difference in the beams except for the color. The led seems more white than the incandescent head. I also bought one well ok two of the dorcy spyders just to have one and its beam is very close to my surefire, an adjustable focus and for $20 its a good deal.it says 119.5 lumen but IMHO they doubled the lumen in their specs. The sure fire is every thing I had read about EXCEPT its weight. It is very light deceptivly light. It feels like you forgot the batteries. If you have one of the maglight 2 d cells they have a xenon bulb that does the impossible! It has NO hole in the beam and is a very tight beam still waaaay out there. I got it at home depot for 3 bucks. Actual results may vary. :D

In fact, you just can't decide which to get first IMHO. ;)

Everything, I mean everything else I've got seems dim, weak and out of focus! :D
