I was at Costco the other day and they had Dorcy 2-cell (CR123) Xenon-bulb "tactical" flashlights. 2 pack for $26. I figured I'd buy them and see, since ya know that Costco will take anything back anytime.

They're actually very nice. They came with Duracell CR123's, and the cases are machined aluminum. They have the nice tactical on/off switch in the rear of the light just like the Surefires. Are they bright? Oh man, they're bright. They spec them at 119.5 lumens. I don't have a meter, but I believe it's every bit of 100 lumens.

So, 2 decent Xenon flashlights, with batteries (and belt sheaths) for $26. Suchadeal. No, it's not a Surefire, but it's still quite a flashlight.

Here's a picture:

Have fun!

Looks more like a Streamlight Scorpion or the Surefire G2, but still a good deal. Where are they made?

James, they have "Taiwan" written on the end near the switch.

Extremely bright, but that sucker gets hot :) I guess I'll be surprised if it lasts more than one set of 123's...

They do get hot and if they really do have 119 lumens those batteries will last about 35 minutes total. Get to be good friends with the guys at the Battery Station the 123s are a buck @. Locally they are six ninety nine @

As with most specs on various flashlight models, the Spyder specs are VERY overstated. I'd rate the light more towards 45-50 lumens. Not a bad product for the price.

Anyone have an extra that they'd be willing to part with?

Please?

i certainly wouldn't say it's a surefire clone. it looks and is meant to look totally different, for which i am grateful.

it has been discussed quite extensively on cpf, the general consensus being a pretty good value.

the claims are seriously overrated though :(
for me, that's enough reason not to buy it
