Hey. I've been looking into getting my first surefire and have heard a lot about the E2 elite. Is that out yet? Where is a good place to get surefires for the best price? Finally, what is a "lock-out tail cap?" Thanks -Lev

I don't know of any retailers who have the E2e yet, but I hear they'll be out soon. I've recently been buying from William at Texas Tactical Supply. Don't go by their lame web page, www.texastacticalsupply.com, it does not list all their products, and William can special order whatever you want. The prices are good, and he's willing to deal if you're making a bigger purchase.

Most indications from SureFire point to the E2e being released sometime in mid-February after the SHOT show.

All SureFire lights activate either by pressing the rubber button at the bottom of the light for momentary light, or by turning the tailcap clockwise for full constant-on activation of the light. The lockout tailcap (LOTC) prevents the momentary activation by allowing the user to turn the tailcap approximately 1+ revolutions toward the off position thereby locking the tailcap button out and preventing accidental activation of the light while transporting it, carrying it in your pocket, etc. Many SureFire users have/had complained about the lights being accidentally activated while in their pocket or while carried in their bags, leaving the batteries dead just when the light is needed.

I usually get my Sure-Fire's from fellow Forumite Tim Flanagan at Nor'east Knives.

I will see if I can find his email...

I second CD's statement about Tim at Nor'east Knives. Great service and prices... unlike Botach, who just has great prices...

Tim is my Dealer too...

Brock? He suggested Tim to me I believe.
He's an Administrator at CandlePowerForums.

Tim's the Best!
