I love SF, so much in fact one of my collections is old P60 style tail caps, original "laser products" stuff all the way up threw current stuff and of course rare stuff- I even even a purple aviator cap sealed as NOS so I'm a huge fan of the company but none of their handheld products interest me anymore

Look at the first light they show with the variable ring on the tail cap (I'll have to get me one of those tail caps), it's fully variable- no clicks while turning, yet watch the steps- horrible, SWM (sunwayman) and nitecore get it perfect for a fraction of the cost. Unless your a public service department or the military there's really no reason for an individual to buy pretty much any surefire light with how much competition is out there now days.

Flashlights were my first love, and I have been buying, hoarding, using and carrying them for 25 years. But I haven't found a Surefire that I wanted to buy in the last 15 years. Its sad, as they use to be cutting edge, and the light that everyone wanted. But for me at least, they have gone the way of the Blackberry.

I love Surefire and their customer service have treated me very well. I was looking to buy the R1 Lawman until I spotted the R2 Lawman with the VOC tailcap at the 2014 Shot Show. Then I realized that the prototype had been out since early 2012 and still no sign of Surefire putting it into production.

So I just bought the R1 Lawman as a replacement/upgrade to my current dutylight, the Z2 with a Malkoff M61 :D Can't wait till it gets here!

I own Surefire's and I own the high quality up to date Chinese lights that I enjoy very much. For me, out of experience, If I absolutely need to have a flashlight that will not fail even though badly damaged....I want a Surefire.
