I'm thinking of getting a SureFire and was wondering what the difference was between the brightness of the E2E and the KL3. I'm looking for the brightest, longest lasting, and cheap SureFire(around 50-75 bucks.) Thanks in advance.

the E series is fine for EDC but lacks the pure brightness of the full size lights that can use the P60/61. Also it has limited expansion. With the 6P/M2 etc. you can slap a A19 adaptor on them and make them 3 cell lights and use the higher output bulbs to get even more light out of them. You can also get turboheads for the full size lights which you cant get for the E series. It all comes down to what you want it for, if you want a light thats small and bright for EDC i would go with the E series. If you want a slightly bigger light but with 10 times the expansion options I would get a full size 2 cell light like a M2,6P,etc. Oh and surefire are not what you want if you want long burn time, the KL series LED bezels are good but at the cost of them plus the light you could get a much cheaper LED light like a Innova X5.

The E2e with the stock bulb will blow the KL3 out of the water.
No comparison at all.

Were you perhaps asking about the E2e with a KL1 versus the KL3?
If so then that's a bit different.
The KL3 can run on either 6V or 9V and is made to fit the 1" body SureFires (6P, 6Z, C2, D2, Z2, 9P, 9Z, C3, D3, Z3).
With the 6V its nearly identical to the KL1 (also on 6V).
They do use the same LED after all.
The KL3 with 9V is supposedly brighter than the KL1 but still not by that much.

I also keep hearing the KL1 being compared to the X5T.
Well I finally got to compare the two recently and the KL1 is the clear winner in my book.
More light and MUCH more throw. The throw is the key difference.
The X5T may be a decent task light but the KL1 can truly be considered a flashlight.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll stick to a more less expensive LED with more run-time like the CMG Infinity Ultra. My guess is it's just as good as a SureFire. Thanks again.
