Curious to see if anybody has any experience with the SureFire line. I was thinking about the Delta model becuase it has alot of features like the wrench and cord cutter among other things. Blade is CPM-S30V. Only thing holding me back is the hefty price tag it carries. What do you guys think, worth it or not?

Hey Jonny,

If you're in Marin County, there a store in SF that seems to have it in stock so you can actually get your hands on it to see if you like it. It's Tad Gear:

www.tadgear.com

They also have other high end knives that you can compare it with and the guys there are very knowledgable about knives.

The knife is solid, and they have a great warranty, but is it worth it to you? Only you can really decide my friend.

Thanks ignoramus! I'll have to make that trip to the city and check it out.

Anytime Jonny. Welcome to the forums:). While you're in the city, stop by We Be Knives over in Pier 39:

www.webeknives.com

They have a lot of quality knives for knife lovers to play with. The guys are semi knowledgable and the pricing is horrible, but a great place to see if you really like a model, and then order what you like online (unles you're okay paying an extra 50-75% over online stores).

Thanks alot ColonialKnifeFan excellent review! I guess the wrench on that knife isn't all what its cracked up to be. I look forward to your long term review.

While I know that Surefire makes great products, I don't think that a factory made folder is worth $425. For that kind of cash, you could get a nice custom knife. Some of the knife's features are quite innovative, but I couldn't see myself ever using them.

I terms of general EDC tasks, I think you would be just as well off with a Spyderco Manix or Chinook.

Wow, this surprised the heck out of me. Every thread I've opened to date has had a general consensus that, while quality, Surefire knives are in no way worth the price tag attached to them.

Of course, I would think that at least some of the price tag can be attributed to name alone.

Interesting to see a more 'positive' reaction to the knives.

i like the alpha model but not any of the others.

the are made well, great F&F, but are imho a little overpriced for what ya get.

i dont like the delta FWIW, if for no other reason that the funky look it has lol.
