Hey guys,

I have got a couple questions about what I can do here, it seems the m6lt are no longer produced and are a bit more expensive to purchase when found. However there are still quite a few of the m3lt surefires around that are roughly $250. Now my question to you all is can I take the head off of the m3lt (believe the head is ktx9-c) and put it onto my old m6 guardian that had an incandescent head? Now I'm fairly sure this will work, but does anybody know what type of output I'll be able to achieve? The m3lt are listed at 1000 lumen now and the m6lt at 1200, will i be able to achieve 1200 since I have the old m6 body with 6 batteries? Will I be able to have a high and low output? Any negative side effects?

Thanks in advance fellas,

Harrison

I cant say if it will work or not, but if it does, you will only get the M3LT's high of 1000 lumens - the output of an LED head is dependent entirely on the LED type and how hard the driver is pushing the LED.

If it were me i would keep the M6 as incandescent and get a few pairs of AW 17500 rechargeables to run an M3LT
17500 are CR123 thickness, but 1.5 CR123 in length
At 3.7-4.2v with minimal voltage sag under load, the voltage of 2x 17500 is very similar to 3x CR123 under load.
