there are a couple threads on cpf about it. nyelube is the "premium" product. of course, some will argue that you could spend half as much on the stuff at wallmart, but personally i find nyelube to be supperior.
it also comes in more than one flavor.
for threads (this will keep the metal from oxidizing and producing resistance)
and for orings (this is to keep them from from drying out, it makes thurning the piece smoother, improves water resistance, etc. basically it's almost the same as the kind for threads, but is smoother and doesn't help with oxidation)
I use NyoGel 759G - I got a 454g pot (1lb for the old ) and it's been the only thing made in the USA that has been cheaper to buy in England than it sells for in the USA
I believe this model has been replaced by an even more impressive lube but I've still got about 1/3 left...
I also agree with Shane45 about the di-electric grease. It is for lubing spark plug boots to seal out water and provide a better contact. I believe it is 100% silicone, so it won't harm o-rings. Got mine at Pep Boys for .99 for a small packet that lasts a long time...
