hi, am gonna put a D&D rig from GG&G on my M4, at least till i can save up and get a M500 surefire ($550 or so), and was gonna use either my Z2,Z3 or M3. i know the M3 has the anti shock bezel, but does the Z series also?? has anyone tried a Z2 or 3 on a AR15 rifle and shot it?? i have heard on the 6P ya need an anti shok bezel or the bulb will break, but no info on the Z series. bulbs are high $$, dont wanna break them........

any info appreciated.......

Nope, the Z series doesn't come with an anti-shock bezel. You can add one as an accessory, though it might be cheaper to just buy the M series to begin with.

You can get a black M2 bezel for your Z2 for about $25. Call Surefire and order direct.

Or, you can just order the Z32 shock-isolated bezel (identical bezel to the Surefire M16 tactical light on my AR-15), which from an outfit like Sableco.net will only run you $16.00, plus ship. The Z32 should fit any 1" diam. Surefire (6P/Z, Z-series) ;)

Hmm, I have the Z32, and I'm not found of it. Unfortunately, it has a Lexan lens, and it's also not very attractive. I like the M2 bezel much more myself. :)

thanks for the info.....

surefire wrote me back and said the only one they recc was the M3 (of the ones i have) and dont use the Z's for this......but i think i am gonna try the M2 bezel, the M3 just seems kinda big for this, but does have some serious light though, this is MUCH cheaper than the M500 stuff, the mount is about $35, i have the light, vs $500+ for the M500, unless someone can steer me to a cheaper source.....although i am sure i eventually will get the M500, though

wow, now i am confused, lol. looked on AR15.com and they have a discussion about this subject going, some people have shot several thousand rounds w/a stock 6P in the rig, no breakage, say the Z2 and 3 work fine....others say they have just been lucky, though. think i'll stick w/the original plan, use the M3 or put a M2 bezel on the Z2, and get a M500 setup soon (hey, X-mas in near!!!, my wife might not buy i need a $500+ flashlight for my AR, though, lol)

will post how it works, they(GG&G) shipped today, so should be here soon, hopefully..............

thanks for the info/links a bunch, guys!!
