Hello gents,

I have a question,I have a older mount for my Mossberg 590 and the batteries are dead,do I have to use sure fire batteries or is there a way I can use other lithium batteries that you can buy at radio shack?

Thanks in advance

The problem with seperate batteries is that they lack the shock absorbing barrier between them. Multiple shots will eventually compress your batteries, leading to failure.

SF223AC's are not that expensive and have a 10 year shelf life. Buy about 4 of them, and you'll be fine for years.

If you buy 123s at Radio Shack or Walmart or anywhere locally you'll pay around 6-14 times what you can get them for on the web now. You can get Surefire brand direct from Surefire for $1.25 each, or DP brand for $1 at http://www.batterystation.com/cpf.htm -- that price is for members of www.candlepowerforums.com so why don't you join -- it's the Bladeforums for flashlight fnuts.

I expect the new low prices on the web will eventually trickle down to B&M stores, but it hasn't happened yet.

Now I see Spark posted while I was writing that -- I didn't know 123s are not the way to go for that light. Might as well leave my post there for others who may want 123s....
