I love this light, bought it 3 years ago while I was still a federal security officer at a chemical weapon storage depot (now is storage and destruction); when I purchased this light I also purchased a new 4 D cell maglight, and the surefire drowned out the light from the Maglight, plus it is easy to use, and the batteries last forever, unlike the D cell batteries in my maglights

I was given one, and I really like it. 3 cell lithium? It's bright as hell. it has already helped me once. The only problem is that the bezel melted...wills surefire replace that?

They might, it's worth contacting them. Depending on who you talk to there, you may have all kinds of different experiences. .

One of my favorite flashlights is the Surefire C3 (I think it's basically the same as the Z3, but with a pocket clip). For EDC, I tend to use much smaller lights, but the C3 is still very carriable. Stick a P91 HOLA in it and you get some extremely impressive output.

if ya mean the lens, SF will send ya another free if ya call them. if the bezel itself melted, wow, ya got the thing very hot lol, they would prob wanna see it. i melted the lens in my Z3 also, a great light by the way, havent carried mine much since i got a M3, the Z3 is a good one though. i dont think SF makes them anymore, do they?

good luck w/the lens/bezel.

I use a Z3 or Z2 all the time - great lights. I use them when walking, and for crossing the street at night. I don't leave them on for long periods. I carry and Inova T3 or an LED Surefire as "leave them on" work lights.

eah...lens,,,hah, back off, I;m not a flishlight guy, yet.

Thanks for the advice, I'll give them a call first thing Monday.

A small update, I called surefire today...or yesterday, whatever, and a new lense is on its way, no questions asked. What great customer service.

I love the Z3, but since it's too big for me to EDC, mine stays in my truck most of the time. I tried it with the stock bezel and P90, put a black M2 bezel on it--which looked cool, had a pyrex lens and shock protection, but did make the spill narrower, since the bezel sits further out in front of the reflector, but sold the bezels and LAs after getting a SRTH (short rim turbo head aka "Stever Ryan Turbo Head) and some N2 LAs.
Now it looks like this:
