surface grinder wheels

What type, color, grit, harness,bond ect do you like for surface grinding blade steel. I finally got my surface grinder set up and trued and am getting close to using up the wheel that came on it. Also the label on that wheel is worn down so that I cant read what it is.

Get in touch with a grinding supplier and get their help in choosing the right wheels - you will need several types - for your machine and applications. Norton makes very good stones.

Do you have a balancer set up? That is an absolute must have.

Be very careful working with a surface grinder. Any wheel failure that causes the wheel to shatter can be fatal.
