How do you get rid of surface pitting? I polished the blade twice with Flitz. Most of the rust is gone but there are still "scars" where all the little pock marks were. Should I just keep polishing with Flitz? Is there another method, type of cloth, polish that I should be using?

The blade has a fine satin finish and is some type of carbon tool steel. Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

whather its carbon or stailess once it is itted you will have to grind of enought steel to make it all level. don't fret about it gives it charecter. clean as best you can and then give a heavy coat of wax to fillin the pitt's so they won't grow:D renissance wax or just plain floor or automobile wax works great and wont collect dirt like oil will.
