Surface rust spot?

So last weekend I went on a camping trip with some friends. I cooked up a steak on the campfire, and cut it up with my trusty sebbie. Now, I admit that we were drinking a good bit as well, so I didn't get the s35vn blade as clean as I should have (it also rained quite heavily that night). Well, the next day as we were packing up camp, I looked at my sebbie and noticed some VERY small rust spots from a place where I missed wiping off the juices from the steak.

Should this have me worried? And what is the best way to get them off without marring the rest of the finish of the blade. I thought about just getting a scotchbrite pad, but didn't want to scuff up the blade. Any thoughts or suggestions out there?

Try some polish .... like Flitz, or something similar.

I have used eraser and Flitz(separately)
You shouldn't be worried-stainless is not rust proof(as you can see), but you do need to take care of the problem

My S35VN Spyderco Native 5 got rust on the blade when I let it sit wet overnight. The rust wiped off with oil on a coarse cotton rag and did not leave any noticeable damage, nor did it return under normal use.

I have one pit on my S35 blade. It's a polished blade and I polished it with filtz. Too deep to remove. I figure it's just a sign of life :)

Try WD-40 (or Ren Oil). I have used that on pliers and stuff like that and it worked very well. Just drench the blade and let it sit a while ... then wipe it with a rag. You should be fine.

Used flitz wax on a Microtech that had bad stains one time, worked perfectly.
It's not as abrasive as the polish and should clean up a surface spot.
Mine never returned and although I know where it was on the blade it is impossible to see.

Good luck.
