Surge Clip

Just picked up a new Surge Tool and installed the optional side clip for it, like I did for my Wave tool.

Do these clips just fit loose or is it just mine? side to side play is about 1/4 in. Seems very sloppy to me.
If the one side of the clip that is inserted into the handle didn't have that little cutout, I could see that it would have fit better than it does.

My Wave tool has very little play compared to the Surge.

I have the same set-up and also noticed the play, aboout 1/8th of an inch on mine. I have no problems with the wobble as long as it doesn't affect the over-all functionality of the Multi.

Are you referring to the cut-out that actually locks-up to the side-locking mechanism for the inner tools? I would think that without that cut-out, the clip would get loose.

Isn't the clip the same design as the wave's belt clip? Can I suggest you try exchanging them and post your observations here? I'd also like to know that.

I have an old-style wave that can't be 'belt-clip attached' unless modded.

No, the other side. Instead of a straight edge there, it tappers in just a bit. If it went straight without the tapper it would provide a tighter fit.

I'm sure it is. I took the one I'm using now off my wave and used it for the Surge. I do have a new one on order which I thought would arrive today, but I'm sure it is the same as the one I'm using, if there is a difference once I get it I'll be sure to post back.

I also sent mail to Leatherman, still waiting for a reply back.
