Had a chance to enjoy another informative and unique perspective from Steve Watts and the Schiele museum this weekend, the class being “survivalcraft!”. It featured survival from a stone age perspective. I got to use the new Brian Andrews Mini-Terrasaur, and my hand felt great despite the copious amounts of carving I did. I was able to sell a lot of the new condor line too, as the sapien was a real hit there. I figured it would be. The class was Saturday, and I had the Aboriginal skills cabin all to myself Saturday night and Sunday morning to work on skills and catch up on writing. It was truly a great experience. They were opening a pirate exhibit at the museum as well, and Saturday night I had a chance to see full pirate regalia clad primitive skills instructor! We also made large billy cans out of soup kitchen cans, which you can readily find available at schools.

It was a great class that gave me a chance to reflect on many aspects of real world survival, and I was able to learn about things much more in depth than I already knew about. We also learned some different ways to set up tarps, Steve talked about Cody Lundin and the new show (He used to teach Cody in the beginning, then he modestly said until "The roles reversed and Cody started to teach me things"). Also talked about some other books, knife selection, and other really neat tips and tricks. As far as the actual crafts themselves, I guess I was too busy using my hands to take pictures. Way to go joe.

Great stuff Joe! You always find the coolest things to attend and learn from.

Thanks for sharing!

Why do you get to have all of the fun? I need to find more of these things to do.

Looks like a great time.
