Many years and about 50 pounds ago I found a pair of similar pants in an Army Surplus store. The last time I tried to put them on there was a large gap in the front caused by an approximate 6" growth in my waistline so they are packed somewhere down in a cedar chest. The only problem with the pants was, except for a few days, they were too warm for East Texas. However, since I saw the link to Military Supply House and realized they carry waist sizes that fit me, I may have to get another pair.
I like to tent camp in early spring when the overnight temperatures get down near freezing keeping the bugs, snakes, and most people away. At night I often sit by the campfire wearing my insulated coveralls but it would be nice to be able to just have on a pair of warm pants and not have to worry about the coveralls. The pair of Swedish Army pants I had didn't have any cinch straps at the ankles, just cuffs. They were a densely woven wool that was very wind resistant, very warm, and would be excellent for lower levels of activity here in East Texas.
