Started with a Gray Italian 4Max from Cold Steel. Loved the knife, though it took a lot of practice to use one handed. To be safe, I recommend just staying with two hands to open and close. Well, I tired of the color so I bought Rit DyeMore synthetic in "Racing Red". My expectation was a dark cherry. (I did not disassemble the knife, it proved not necessary as it came out great just put in the pot of sub boiling water fully assembled) 8 Minutes after submerging in the near black dye, I pulled it out, dunked it in water, and used a compressor to blow any remaining dye and water out.) Now the surprise, it was not Red at all! It came Grape! Just like artificial grape candy. I love how it turned out and will post a picture soon. I was aware that I started with gray scales it would be darker than racing red, but the purple was a real surprise. For those wanting to try this, I think it is great fun. Just know, the color you get may not be what you expect! Pictures to come.
