Surprise, surprise, surprise, the USPS found something!

My wife just called me to ask if I ordered ANOTHER knife (LOL!). I told her no, not yet, why? She said that the USPS just delivered a small package from HI. I asked her to check the Postmark on it, it was dated 12/18/99! Gee guys, what took ya' so long! Alas, at least they found my Kagas Katnes YEA! I'm anxious to get home to see this 'mini-khuk'. Give the government long enough, and they MIGHT get a few things done! (But don't hold your breath LOL!)

Rob,

Glad to hear you got your concealable khukuri. I am sure that you'll like yours as well as I like my 1/2 dozen(soon to be just one, as the rest will be gifted away).

My happiness will be complete, for the time being, once the postal service delivers the Snow Leopard Millennium Special I spoke for.

My Kaga Katnes also showed up this evening. Maybe somebody down at the post office decided they need the space for something else.

When I got home from work yesterday and opened up the package from HI, I couldn't stop laughing. The KK is a cool little knife, but after getting used to the 18"+ AK, it just looks so tiny! It is about as long as the handle on the AK! It is a nice knife. I sharpened it last night, and OOOOhh does it have an edge. Question, what are the sheaths on other forumites covered in? Mine appears to be patten (sp?) leather. I thought that I remembered someone saying that theirs was the real McCoy, just like the larger Khuks, with the buffalo hide. Just curious. This is one neat little knife without a doubt!

I think that I have to get one of the KK's. My wife would love it. She is actually starting to like my kukhris. ( I think I am winning!)

Rob asked about sheaths on Kagas katnes which have been received so far. Of my three, two have leather sheaths and one has the plastic-looking "patent" leather. They are all good knives though. I am thinking of getting, or making, a standard leather sheath for my "plastic" one.

Fisbate: Thanks for the reply about the sheaths. I'm interested in how one might go about making a sheath for this critter. ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS? Matt, you're probably correct about your wife liking one. The first thing that several ladies have said when I showed it to them is "Oh, it's so cute!". Not exactly what I thought but...(LOL) I know that Chiro was looking at making Kydex sheaths for these, does anyone have one? Chiro, are you out there?

All joking aside this is a situation that bears looking into. Are the postmarks from Reno or your local PO's? If it were me(and it has been) I would lodge a formal complaint wiht the postmaster. If the problem is on Bill's end he might have to talk with the post people. Not getting mail is one of those things that really annoys me.
