Surprised by my BK11

I was working in the yard this past weekend and decided to build a fire using my BK11. It was the first time I used it on some heavier stuff - battoning through firewood and making a feather stick. I was surprised to find for the first time that the handle was too small to be comfortable. I found myself wishing I had something fuller like my Ka-bar MK1 Navy.

Are the Tweeners noticably fuller in the hand? What about the Eskabar? I've been thinking about those, but I don't want to have the same feeling of "too little" handle.

BTW, I have Cocobolo handles on my necker, so it is thicker than just paracord wrapping would be.

The eskabar isnt Fuller (Thicker?) but it is a little longer,
for me what makes the handle better is the lack of tiny cramped finger grooves.
i have heard good things about the full length grips for it too.
tweeners should be more full and ergonomic.

The 14 with scales is quite comfortable when batoning or other light ''heavy-duty'' tasks. The zytel really makes them a real workhorse and moves them out of the ''necker'' category. The Tweeners (the 16 anyways) is very comfy, I love how they fit my hand.

Second that. I have pretty good sized hands and with the zytel scales on my 14 it feels like a mini-bushcrafter, very comfortable.

The tweeners all have the same handle, the only difference is the blade, but you already knew that.

On topic: The tweener handles will be much fuller than the necker or eskabar, but so will any other knife with a larger handle and larger scales.
