Surprised there hasn't been more talk about these.

this is the sprint I've been waiting for. Wish I had thought ahead and pre-ordered a second. LOve them Delicas.

I have heard a general sentiment (and I agree with it) that Damascus is just not something very desirable. I have no interest at all in that knife. The Ti looks very sharp, but the blade is a total turnoff to me. Damascus seems to have a small but passionate following. To me, it adds no functional value and Spyderco defines functional value, plus I don't think it looks good. Glad you like it and hopefully Spyderco sells many though.

I like Damascus, but there are certain knives it looks good on (IMO) and some that it doesn't. The Ti/Damascus Delica is screaming for a Damascus Pocket-clip (as was the Kershaw Damascus Skyline), but with Ti, there's room for Scroll-work - that would look completely bad ass on that knife.

I love them and wondered the same too. Mine is on preorder through knife center but no word yet. I see other shops have them and perhaps I should just buy from another vendor. Advice?

Edit: Decided to just return mine. The pattern was way too uneven for a collector's piece.

I was thinking the same thing. I didn't even know they're were making them until I saw them on a dealers site. I like the idea and it looks pretty sweet. I think it looks weird that they used the lanyard-holed pocket clip with the lanyard hole being moved. I'm not a fan of polished clips so I'd buy a regular black one anyway.

Thanks for sharing.

i'd like titanium on my zdp endura. it'll help bolster the knife during hard use. and better for kitchen and food prep work. :D

I'm all for a Titanium Delica. (WE SHOULD TITANIUM EVERYTHING! :emot-yarr:) My problem is I can't get myself to use a Damascus blade. Looks too much art that it's no longer a tool.

The hole in the pocket clip is to clear the pivot screw when the clip is installed for tip-down carry.

It's a VG-10 blade with extra layers on the outside to make it too thick and a metal handle to conduct heat. What's to discuss?

Not much to discuss other than they are out now. Just historically when I've gotten sprints there is some buzz saying "I just got mine" etc. At any rate. I love it. I wont use it to beat up as I have plainer, less expensive Delicas that fill that roll.

The blade's thicker? IIRC, a normal Delica has a blade thickness of 1/8" right? So how thick is this Delica? I've been considering picking it up, but for me, it really depends on how the damascus is done. Some patterns look very good with it. For example, on the OP's knife, I like the blade, but I don't like how the pattern is all "squished" around the pivot area. Unfortunately, my local knife shop closed down, so that's out of the question. Shame though, they were able to get all the sprints and such somehow.

Not your every day EDC, especially at that price. Collector's model I suppose, but not for my collection.

The blade is no thicker than an ordinary Delica. I just prefer my blades about half that thick. The VG-10 core by itself might be about what I'd like to see for an overall thickness, hence my comment about extra layers to make it too thick.

On my Delica 4, the pocket clip hole goes around the lanyard hole as well (in tip-up carry). Just curious as to why this one isn't that way.

If it had been a different damascus pattern it would have been a really good looking blade but, unfortunately, on a knife the size of the Delica the pattern just looks too busy. A basket weave or twist pattern would look more symmetrical and would really compliment the Delica's design in my opinion.
