Local WallyWorld has had one of these in the display case for some time. Only one in stock. I've fondled it a bit, perfect centering, near 100% lockup (slightly early). Smoother than expected.

I couldnt jump on it for 29.99, but yesterday, I noted it marked down to 21.00, I figured 'Why not?'

The edge came shaving sharp, but I thinned it out to 15 dps and went to work on some onions and tomatoes. Decent slicer for ad-hoc kitchen duty. Yeah, the steel "sucks" and its China-made. Its also the least expensive knife I own by several orders of magnitude, but I'm pretty impressed with what my 20 got me. We'll see how this thing holds up...

I've read mixed reviews on this particular knife, but I just wanted to throw a positive out there.

I got one of the 4k's when they first came out and carried it a good bit, but a few months ago I got the XL and that is a nice carry knife.

IMO though the steel holds up real good.
I'm a carpenter and sometimes beat my blades up a little and Kershaws 8cr holds a decent edge for me.
Now I'd like it better if it was 3v but for 30 bucks 8cr is fine.

I have the 4kxl. It's a good one for the price. It took a little work but it centered and opens smooth with no blade play.

IMO, Kershaw did a great job with the Kemersons. All around solid budget knives with Emerson ergos.
I agree. Just had a new 10k come through. Everything was great about it. Only sold it because i could not get use to the wave. Kept forgetting it would deploy out of pocket. With the extreme clip point I almost punctchurd my middle finger many times.

That has happened to me when I first got it. I have been thinking of grinding the wave off.

I would love it if they just bumped the price up a bit and went with a slightly better steel.

Maybe making it in their zt line. Titanium lock side with g10 show side. Elmax or s35vn. Even a steel lock side to keep the price in line with the 0350.

They have the zt version. I meant like a 50-70 line with slightly better steel

Honestly I was very impressed with my Kershaw Emersons. I think they may be some of the best knives out there for the money.

My cqc6k is just an amazing knife for the dough.

I had a cqc9k when it first came out. It was kind of stiff. I couldn't get sweet spot and came close to touching the liner. I liked the ergos on it though and may get one. This thread has me ithching for one.

My CQC6k was a bit off center out of the box but it wasn't rubbing the side. Lock up was solid about 50% without any side or up/down movement. I tweaked it a bit with the help of a youtuber and I got it centered.

It's out? Ok, will have to check the local distributors for the newer products models. Thanks

Not the best apple slicer, but otherwise pretty impressive. Comfortable and very useful bladeshape.
I got this one as something i can practice freehand sharpening on, it grew quickly on me.

I am a true blue Emerson fan but have to admit, the Kermersons are great knives ... especially at their price point!
