My wife, a surgical nurse who has always been indifferent to my collection of knives, decided to go on a day-long shopping trip out of town Saturday while I was working.

To my surprise, she took one of my knives along for protection -- a REKAT Sifu! Guess example is a good teacher!

Good for your wife!!
I like when a lady takes an active role in her safety. I also like to hear of the bad guys getting the s**t kicked out of them by a women. That sure puts a smile on my face.

I'm still working on my wife. She's still a little too scared to handle the one hand openers. I don't want her to carry until she's comfortable and proficient in drawing, opening, and defensive techniques.
I'm still unsure if she has what it takes to damage the bad guy without hesitation. I constantly drill into her that she should fight back ALWAYS. A persons fate should rest in their own hands, not that of a bad guy.
I live by that greed. I don't mess with anyone until they mess with me. Then, well, the claws are extended in an extremely offensive manner and "it's time to carve the turkey."

For now, the wife carries MACE. She always at the ready to use it too (I hope). I've caught her with it at the bottom of her purse.

Man, a Sifu? That is one large safety margin! But on the other hand, also effective if one wants to use a knife to blaze trails!

I thought you were going to say that she came back from shopping and BOUGHT you a Sifu!! Now that would be a pleasant surprise!

My wife fell in love with my Red BM940. She now carries that instead of her Endura, and it does not sit in the bottom of her purse. She carries it in the waist-band of her skirts and slacks on her weak side for crossdrawing it. I guess everything I taught her is finally sinking in. Now I hafta go buy a new Red 940.

My wife carries a Spyderco Civilian clipped to the zipper compartment inside her hand bag.
