Well I am sure we all have bought one at some point. I've been on a cleaning and organization kick recently and wonder if they should be kept or sold?

There are a few I know I will keep, but some are in question. I lent one to a guy that actually got destroyed in a bad storm. So there is one less to make a decision on anyway.

So what books do you guys have and think are worth owning?

I have a lot of survival books. But the ones I like bat are from guys in my type of environment. For me Cody Lundin and Dave Alloway are tops because they deal with desert environments.

Since there has been so many threads on this, what might be more interesting is if you post the ones you're undecided about, and see what people think.?

Good call Doc, well I like HAWKE'S Green Beret Survival Manual by Mykel Hawke. But am not sure about The Way Of the Scout, Case Files of the Tracker or The Science and Art of Tracking all by Tom Brown Jr.

Tom Brown's stuff is entertaining but a little hippieish...

I got Hawkes book for xmas. About half way thru and really like it as well. My wife has even expressed interest in reading thru it because she likes his show. And if nothing else you can use that thick lil bugger as a deadfall! Lol

I didn't even know he had a show! But, I don't have cable...so I will have to check it out eventually. Between Netflix and high speed internet I have all I can handle. When I moved away from mommy and daddy 5 or six years ago that was the first thing to get axed. Saves me a few hundred a year.

I like autobiographies of Mountain Men and Pioneers... Go to your local library and check out anything by the University of Oklahoma press. They are Survival related and entertaining
