just got a great little custom boonie by ******* (Dave is a one man shop, disabled Vietnam vet)- very highly spoken on several of the military sites
anywho, his boonies have a pocket like some of the vietnam era boonies did- you can store maps, high vis panels, mosquito head net, top secret documents
- anything relatively flat
I took my headnet and put in a small ziplock and then squeezed all the air out of it- flattened to just a little more than a 1/4", I added four micropur tabs and a MRE beverage bag (~ 20 oz capacity) as well
fit in here very nicely
the net and water pouch/tabs don't weigh much- less than an ounce
and then used Stormdrane's idea for adding cordage, which gave me ~ 20' of paracord
I might even add a tiny baggie w/ a few REI/UCO matches w/ a couple of flattened tinder tabs
