I enjoyed this YouTube video and thought he had a few good ideas incorporated into his 'survival kit neck knife'.

I liked his use of inner-tube material to enclose the kit, and the use of Gerber "breast milk bags" as a collapsible water carrying unit (more durable than zip-locs, and infinitely more appealing than drinking out of a condom ;) )

Of course, I would substitute my RAT knife instead of the the knife he uses.

He is a member here and hangs out in Wilderness & Survival Skills sub forum, his handle is "pict". I find his videos very informative, you should check out the mods he does to his machettes.

Pict is a good dude.

I always enjoy his videos and never walk away from them without a new peice of information.

I made that video a favorite on Youtube, and subscribed to his page. He sent me a message via Youtube thanking me for subscribing and was happy I liked the video. He seems like a really nice guy.

nice way to set up a neck knife. Ingenious use of the space without making it cumbersome.

this one has some nice features and a loop for your neck lanyard, but I found it not so good because no refrigerated compartment for the beer.

I'm glad you guys liked the video. I had posted that over on Wilderness and Survival and it eventually dropped of the board. The other day I got like 150 views of that video and it said they were coming from Blade Forums.

I don't own a RAT Izula but it is a really good knife for this kind of a kit. Many neck knives are cool, a sharp object is better than no knife at all, but not good candidates for the bush.

The tapered Izula sheath might be problematic when covering it with a rubber sleeve. I bought this knife years ago with this kit in mind, before the Izula came out. It would not be hard, or expensive to have a straight sided kydex sheath made for an Izula.

I've carried this kit extensively in Brazil (where I live), Pennsylvania (where I'm from), and Alaska (hunting trip) and its has always worked well for me.
