Here are some of the survival kits I have put together in the past. I like to use tungsten weights (non toxic and denser than lead) owner or gamakatsu hooks, and spectra line. If I plan on sticking a lure inside the kit, I always try to make it a spinner or spoon with a treble hook, because the treble hook can be used to foul hook fish in an emergency as well. For fire starting, a piece of ferrocerium rod with a striker and a length of jute cord. Still some room left over for anything else you think you would need. Everything is kept dry with a water tight seal.

I like it.
I loove these types of threads. To me it is neat to see what others carry and the way they carry there kits.
It gives me Ideas and more options to put together kits that I think will help me out more.

What other kits do you have?

More pics please.

I make a smaller capsule (son of exo tube) that can still be used with the spools as well.

Here are some more pictures:

these are lighters

These Titanium fire pistons fit inside the larger capsules.
Here is a kydex sheath for the fire pistons set up for neck carry.

It is interesting to see what others do in terms of their kits. Thanks for sharing

I got my leather punch and sewing awl needles in the mail yesterday, bought a cow's worth of leather last week. I've got a sort of Versipack style lumbar bag drawn out for on-the-go easy access survival kit-both to supplement a back and for standalone, IE dayhikes.
