I have Chris Reeves Survival mk iv knife which I won in 1987 at the South African Bianchi match (score 1902) I have the documention from Chris stating that it is 1 of 5 ever made. The knife is still new, never used, and still has the original edge. Can anyone give me a value on this knife. Many thanks.

If every single detail that you offered in your OP is true, my guess would be that it's worth...more than you paid for it.

Hello Alan

Please accept my apologies for a late response to your email. Chris and I had completely forgotten about these knives and it was fun to reminisce!

There is no doubt that this knife has collector value although, as with any collectable, it is worth only what someone is willing to pay for it. However, we think it would be worth in the $400 to $500 range.

There are sure to be collectors interested in this and I would suggest you post on www.bladeforums.com in their Exchange forum. Many ardent collectors keep watch on this forum.

By way of interest, I am copying your email to Chris Fazio at KG Coatings – the company that makes Kalgard or, as it is now known, KG GunKote.

Be sure to let me know if you have any further questions –

Very best wishes for a very Happy New Year!

Anne

Please be advised that you cannot sell it on this forum without a paid membership of Gold or above. By simply asking for a value you are indirectly advertising the knife for sale. This is frowned upon on BFC. Your best bet is to contact a reputable dealer or collector/seller.
