......So Show us picutres of your survival necklace :D

Not exactly a full fledged survival necklace, but I like hanging my fire steel and striker on my neck when in the woods.

Ranger Ricks is good. He sent me one as a gift after we exchanged email a few times.
He is a top notch guy and the stuff in his rangersdigest books is brillant.

Just to start this off, I don't wear a necklace, but I do carry a "civilian survival kit" on my keychain.
The chain itself is a thin dog collar with the keyring attached to one end, dropped into my pocket,
and the kit on the other, clipped to a toy carabiner on my belt.

cheap microlight
Fox miniwhistle
Normark sheath with a Victorinox Classic
ResQMe
large pill case for Tums
small pill case for Glucophage

I also carry a few other items regularly, but they don't work on a small chain.
I know I'll have these items, because I don't leave home without my keys.

The blue thingy is a ResQMe is a seatbelt cutter and window punch in one.

Love those Vic sheaths, I've seen them for the larger OHT as well

You should all be carrying a ResQMe. Better yet, put it on every car keychain. It weighs next to nothing, but it has a springloaded glassbreaker and a seatbelt cuitter. You grab the main body of it and pull it off the frictionfit carrier that attaches to the keychain.

Check it out, it doesn't even cost much.

I had to Google it when I saw your post, looks like a very handy tool.

Thanks for sharing

I have a Normark sheath for my OHT and my farmer, excellent stuff.
I want one for my leatherman squirt and a mini bic as well.

I was looking into this some time ago.
1. Use parachute cord as the necklace, but do not tie it at the ends. Fuse the ends of the cord and use a 1 inch piece of vinyl tubing to hold the ends together (this way if the cord snags on something, it doesn't hang you)
2. Use small fishing swivels through the parachute cord to attach the items you want to hang on the necklace. The items will be separated, and will all stay uniformally straight. Plus, you can always use the swivels during fishing, or clothing repairs (like a small safety pin with a loop)
3. Instead of buying a "spy capsule", make one out of PVC tubing this can hold small/loose items. (Fishing line, cord, and duct tape can be wrapped around this)

Love to see pics of your kit when it is completed

This is not my urban edc but my woods neck gear consist of a small leather pouch I made which contains my compass, a bic mini lighter, a fox whistle, a small honing stoneand 1 or 2 other flat Misc objects. My vic rucksack is on my hip and that has a firesteel a spycapsule of P.J.C. and a Led

Sound a little like the one I saw in Field and Stream, I didnt care for their knife choice. I like your idea with PVC capsule. Thanks for sharing :)

Here's the stuff from my altoids tin PSK that rides either in my BK-7 sheath or my pocket. It really is only intended to cover signals to keep them handy in case I need them.

What kind of compass is that?

Good kit, but you might consider the choking hazard. Paracord can support far beyond your own weight. If you fall, get hung-up, etc. you could literally hang yourself with that set-up. You might look into one of the plastic break-away clasps. They're often used by nurses and/or schools for ID badges. Work great with paracord. After sliding on the clasp, I just burn one end of the paracord and make an enlarged knob on each end.

I found those for sale down here as keychains. The keychain part would faithfully attract the compass so I took them off and they work great in PSK's. Mac

pict, if you're talking about the clasps, the ones I linked above are plastic.
