Everyone here I am sure has seen posts for "What can be packed into a hollow handle?" I am here to ask, "what can you fit on a fixed blade knife sheath by either attaching a pouch to the exterior or similar method?" Ron Hood just had a contest for a survival kit on a Becker knife that was really interesting. Lets see some pictures and here some stories and lists.

Kev,

Here's what I have in my Busse pouch. Most of it is in an old 35mm slide box. The Micro 2, bag, and sharpened are at the bottom of the pouch.

========================================

1.5 sq ft heavy duty aluminum foil
#10, #11 scalpel blades
BSA Sparklite & striker
3 trick birthday candles
8 waterproofed strike-anywhere matches
pencil
25’ Spiderwire 24#
10 split-shot
5 #6 hooks
2 immodium
4 benedryl
2 Percocet (Rx leftovers)
3 Percogesic
4 bandaids
7 butterfly bandaids
1 packet double antibiotic

Micro II
1 gallon HD plastic bag
E-Z Lap sharpener
=====================================

There are a lot of good posts on contents. The puzzle will be getting it to fit in the required space.

This is a project in motion. I am constantly modifying this kit. At the time of the photo, The penguin tin contains:

30' spiderwire 12# line, 2-6 1/2' 6# tapered fly leaders, 10' stainless wire, 2 swivels, 3 gold trout egg hooks, 3 long shank trout hooks, 2 dry and 2 wet flies, 6 split shot in 2 sizes, 2 different sized sewing needles, 7 strike anywhere matches and 2 pieces of spark-lite tender, 2 bandaids, 2 antimicrobial wipes, 6 advil, 2 benedryl, 4 pepto bismol chewables, 1 multi vitamin and 1 vicadin, 2 candles, 1 pen refill, 1-1 gallon ziplock freezer bag, 1 victorinox classic SAK, 15" duct tape seals the tin.

Added after photo and not shown is 1 photon style LED light, 2 sheets of write in rain note paper and 2 ranger bands that wrap around sheath at pocket, 4 assorted safety pins. nylon cord is carried as two lanyard straps, one on sheath and the other on the knife. Shelter is an industrial waste bag folded to pocket size and wrapped with 30' of 550 para cord. It gets carried in a pocket.

This pouch just happens to hang across from my axe, but it is attached to the sheath....
