PEACE Announcement
This year will be our 5th annual rendezvous. We average about 60 + folks enjoying themselves at the rendezvous. We will have seminars and demonstrations. Some seminars we are planning are Fire making, Survival Kits, Flint Knapping, Atlatl Making, Iron Forging, Knot tying, Pack Basket Making, Making natural salves and tinctures, Trail Martial arts and more. We're also planning some competitions: fire starting, sling shot, primitive cooking contest, and air rifle contests. We’re also planning a potluck supper for Saturday.
Every evening we'll have a huge campfire for everyone to enjoy. And of course a rendezvous isn't complete without a Trade Blanket (swap meet), so you can bring any outdoor/camping/survival related stuff you'd like to sell or trade. We have a huge 50-acre field where folks can set up their tents. Campers are welcome but we have no electrical hookups or water source. We do have toilet facilities. You can bring your own camp stoves or barbecue grills or you can use one of the fire pits. Light drinking is allowed. This is a FREE, family friendly event so please bring all your loved ones and friends. Friendly dogs are always welcome. We certainly would welcome those of you who wish to come a day early You can come for any or all of the days. We'll be posting more detailed information on our website www.weteachu.com (on our Newsletter page at www.weteachu.com) as it becomes available. We're very excited about having our fifth annual PEACE get together with old friends and meeting new ones. Hope many of you can make it cause we'd sure like to meet some more of you good folks! Please contact us at least 2 weeks before so we can get an accurate count. Use our e-mail at (weteachu@dishmail.net), phone (518-497-3179 or US Mail at 435 Sandy Knoll Rd. Chateaugay, NY 12920

Tony,

The WLC family misses you. Hope you are ready for some more late-night fire dancing with Big John, some Cuban insults from Marty, a little ribbing from Aggie and some story telling about you from me. It is going to be the best one yet. We're lining up a bunch of people to do clinics. Think of anything you want to demo?

Me and the Clan will be there..I am looking forward to seeing you again Kevin, and I miss the heck outta Marty. If we could only convince Brian to come...it would be the best weekend ever.
Its also my middle daughters birthday..she is turning 5, so we will have a cake for her. Cant wait to see you guys.."peace out"

Great to hear brother. We'll make it a great weekend for your daughter. Only at the WLC does she show up and instantly acquire about 45 new uncles willing to kick the ass of any guy who treats her wrong. Just think of the possibilities when she gets older.

By the way, the word of the weekend will be "trade." Plenty of blades for you to sift through. Make sure to bring some fodder too.

Sounds good, I will bring some trade fodder for sure!

Sounds like a great time...Wish I could get the time off work to make it but the Super. at the mines don't like to give time off work...heck, I'm lucky to get off a Sat. every once in a while ! We will be expecting alot of pics of the event for those of us who can't make it !

I'll be there this year. I was bummed about missing WAR in the fall, but I'm really looking forward to this spring's get together. Can't wait to see everyone.

Kevin, I could do a spoon clinic, as long as it's before midday Sat (when I have to take off for a family gathering). I only have one hook knife though...

I can probably come up early, if you think there's anything I could do to help get everything ready. Shoot me an email or text if you want to discuss that further.

Look at you, it's only been a little over a year since you lost your virginty and now you want teach class on spooning... jeesh...

:p

See ya there buddy:thumbup:

I just found this thread and may be in attendance. I'm not far away at all, Plattsburgh.

Simon,

I hope I don't miss you. I'll be coming up with Halley around noon on Saturday, maybe a little earlier. I'm sure Marty would be cool with that. You did a great sharpening demo a couple years ago and you're a natural in front of the crowd.

Groove,

I hope you can make it. You'd be surprised what is only 45 minutes west of the 'burgh. You may just end up coming to all our trips!

Tony,

I don't want you spooning with anyone. Spooning leads to Forking!

ALL,

Just to let you know, there will be a well-known Atlatl maker there to do a really cool demo. I, for one, can't wait to see that!!!!!

Wish I could make it, but alas, my schedule won't allow this year...

I'll see you on Friday my tall bald headed scandi knife loving brother!!!

We had a great time despite the rain and thunderstorms that rolled through. It was great to see old friends again and to meet some new ones. I don't have allot of pics, but I will try to post what I have on Friday. In the mean time here is a video from someone at the rendezvous
