Which survival school is the best ? I've heard about Tom Brown's Tracker School courses and they seem to be good. Any opinions on his courses??

hey chaz....I'm a TBjr grad.....I only took the first class so far, but I loved it.. I sugest if you take one of his classes, take one in the middle of his season. I took the last class of the year, and it was packed. You will stay busy for a week, and if you go take plenty of note book paper, and tape recorder if possible. I took as many notes as I could. I still refer back to the notes I took in the standard class. It was expensive to take his class, and I dont know about any other classes out there, but I would love to take more classes.......ps his tracking is awsome............

Where are you located?

I've been to the Tracker School several times and learned a lot, but it IS expensive, and quite frankly, Tom Brown doesn't teach that much these days, it's mostly done by his instuctors. (At least that was my experience)

In the North West US, I'd recommend Earthwalk NW.

I can't really comment much on the rest of the country.

A bunch of years ago, I went to a school by "Survival Aids," in the mountans of Wales. It was tought by some retired SAS chaps. Nothing magic, but good solid learnin'. It rained continuously, while we were there. I joked with the Sr Instructor that, if it didn't rain all the time, they should refund the money. ;)

Hedgehog tastes like chicken.

I'll be going to the standard class in July then the advanced class in October. It sounds like a top notch school so I figure I'll give it a try.
