I just received my shoulder rig for a Next Gen. 'hawk/Strider Model MT-L combo and I can't say enough good things about it. I'm wearing it right now and, once I finish typing here, I'm headed to the woods for a little T&E. :D

Expect pictures later...

If you don't know the maker, you should go here and check it out. Mine came in OD Concealex and I had the sheaths set up as shoulder carry with a belt-carry option.

Robert can certainly expect more blades from me and Andy can certainly expect to send more 'hawks my way if he can wrap 'em in Survival Sheath Concealex.

:D :) :D

Brian,

The one I handled looked great. It had ample adjustment room and held the hawk secure, but allowed for a quick and easy deployment.

I can understand why you are happy. I can see this rig being suitable for going out in the woods. You can have a sidearm and both hands free for climbing without weighing down your pants & belt more than you need.

Deer season is upon us and this rig would work for bow hunters and tree stand climbers. I see one in my future. Thanks for the review.

Sorry for the delayed update.

I wore this rig during a 3-day "survival" outing and it performed wonderfully. Actually, it was so comfortable that I didn't even know it was there until I had to sit in the car for 8 hours on the drive home. (Just imagine a sheath jamming into your armpit every time you lean one way...)

I had to deal with a couple of loose screws--no comments please :D -- but my Leatherman Wave took care of those problems ASAP.

The sheath needed a little scrubbing to get the crap off of it when I got home and, after drying out, it looks as good as new. I never had any retention problems and am actually having Robert do some more work VERY soon.
