Hey Y'all new to the forum, lurk a lot but never post. Great place.

Question: I was on this forum or another the other day and there was a "show me your axe or tomahawk thread." (If I remember because the majority of the time it is about knives)

Someone mentioned a survival tomahawk head (only), they mentioned they sold out fast, but were recommended to try...(it's similar to the Eco hawk but not tactical)

I found the site but lost the link and for the life of me cannot remember the name.
They were in a preorder stage to be shipped in March. (44ish UK, 60ish CAD +shipping). I'm sure it was a UK or British company although I could be wrong.

The head comes in a bag with some paracord for anchoring it to the stick (not the head of Alfredo Garcia either although it is a classic) it was very minimalist.
Site also had a vid link to YT where someone uses the head to make the handle and then ties it on and starts chopping.

Any ideas what it's called or what the link was???

Or you could just carry the head to this, or even use a cut-down handle with it so it's still able to fit in a pack. True wedge-like geometry that allows it to split as well as chop.

lol knew the klax would come up.

None of them yet. I spent hours searchin last night. (Never rest history with out saving sites) The actual head has a neck and a top. You spilt the piece of wood you will use as a handle far enough down, that the top is covered by the wood also. drop in the head and you use the top as a cinch point where you start to wrap the paracord. I have a sneaking suspicion I feel pen and paper are gonna appear and my art is going to start.

No. It's not the atax either.

Still searching. Sad thing is I watched a video on YT on how to use it and fashion the Handle with the head potion. Not a review, a tutorial (from the site) And I'm sure it's relatively new.

(Unfortunately I can't figure out how to post a photo or I would post the drawing of the actual head)

Back to image searching and word play.

Splitting part of the handle and securing a wedge in it is not a good idea, the handle will split as you use the axe.

As FortyTwoBlades has said, its geometry is not an axe one. You have been given a good advice, there is already an axe type who fits Klax intended purpose better, the tapered eye axe.

Thanks guys.
Good advice. I will continue the search for where I saw I though and send on the info when I find it.

The Klax was a suscesfull Kickstarter project,

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1826434149/klax-its-more-than-an-ax

They make different type axe heads, the top one is made of Ti-4452813 titanium and very expensive. Apart of the "cool" factor, I don't undestand the purpose of using titanium in an axe head, I don't see any mechanical advatage, only disadvantages. The most obvious, you cannot heat treat it.

After reading this if you are still wanting to purchase one of them, here you have their website,

Have a good day.
