Survival videos-that's it?

Following Owen's link on another post, I came upon this 'list' of survival videos: http://www.outdoorreview.com/reviews/videos_survival/
It certainly looks short, not to mention that Doc Ron's videos are obviously missing. Since I still haven't had chance to see them, I would not feel comfortable to send in a 'review' on them. However, if somebody is ready to mail his first-hand experience to the company, that would do a favor to many outdoor enthusiasts.
Furthermore, I got curious what list of survival/outdoor videos this forum could put together.
So, what videos are we aware of?

Thanks,

HM

Here are several videos that I found related to wilderness survival, primitive living and wilderness travel. I assume it is far from complete but enough to give anybody a start and a good credit card bill

. This list does not reflect any opinion regarding their quality or content. Any suggestion and/or improvement is wellcome.

I hope it is helpful although somewhat long.

HM

Ron, exactly the reason I bought all your (and Karen's) tapes ---value....not to mention the quality I saw after they arrived.

Now off to try the link

Donald.

Tried the link. Good reviews...of course!
biggrin.gif

Oh...OK....so I have ALL the tapes, except the Basics 1 & 2 compilations.

Ron, I am glad if I helped. Thanks for the link that actually leads to two tapes: SURVIVAL BASICS 1 and 2! It certainly got good reviews and we should add to the list.

Donald and others, if you have good tapes or any opinion do not hesitate to share it with us. Since it is more convenient, I will mention any new tape within this thread. Therefore, it will be easier to look up and find all videos about the topic in the future.

Best,

HM

A little update on the topic.

Tanning Spirit by Melvin Beattie ("step-by-step instructional video of the brain-tanning process"):

Complete Braintanner by Brent Ladd (wet- and dry-scrape methods, modern and primitive, furs, deerskin, buffalo hide):

Also, an SAS survival video should be out. However, I have not found any trace of it yet. Please let me know if you did.

It would be nice to see a review of some of these tapes. Some are expensive and I wonder if they are worth the money, especially when compared to other tapes. I can vouch for Ron and Karen's Vol I and II intro tapes. Good information for the price and well-made.

So if anyone can give some polite reviews of specific tapes out there, I would appreciate it.

For instance:
Mors Kochanski has a pile of videos on wild edible plants here:
http://www.hollowtop.com/hopsstore_html/kochanskivideos.htm

I'm curious if these are primarily ID types of videos or if there is good information on how to prepare them for consumption.

Good point. I wish I could give more info then that. Certainly, price is a consideration.
Please, if anyone has seen them and ready to give us a brief opinion/review, step out.
