I have a question.
Scenario:
You have diabetes. It can be controlled for the most part with diet but you do have an oral medication that you take to help. You've just survived a crash/breakdown/whatever in a very remote location (at least 3+ days walk to get out).
The location - Pacific Northwest Forests/North Coastal Forests.
Unfortunately, due to your medical condition, you have to eat on a regular basis to maintain your health.
What do you do to control your blood sugar levels?
What do you eat?
I know that many plants are edible, but are there any specific ones to look for that are high in Fiber/Protein/Minerals/Vitamins?
What do you stay away from?
Plants that may be very high in sugars.
Is there a source that any of you know that can help in terms of edible plants and what nutritional value they possess?
What would you do?
Can people with diabetes participate in survival schools/training programs etc?
Thanks for any input.
Darren
