If you were in a wilderness survival situation, which Strider, (one only), would you absolutely want to have with you? What made you choose that particular model over the others? Would it be cord-wrapped or G-10? Thanks for the info.

MS Custom 6.5. It's the perfect size for most outdoor chores, and is a good comprimise between a big honker and a little chore knife. One of the main reasons I love that knife is it fits in my hand like an extention of my body.

My next choice would be the PAB. You could do a lot with that puppy that the MSC (or any of the smaller ones) would be difficult with, like chopping wood. Or decapitating Yetis.

man, thats not fair, only ONE, who only carries ONE knife with them??????

ok, if it had to be one, the PAB.

Without a doubt the MT-L with grn. cord wrap. I have a PAB, and while an awesome chopper, it is one of those things that you have to carry something else small with it. The MT-L is outstanding in both the utility role, and the anti-personnel role. It is about as big a blade as can be carried anywhere without any special concerns. Mine is a permanent resident in my Strider backpack (wich is like an appendage). I also prefer the cord wrap because of its outstanding gripping ability in any conditions. The only time I would go with G-10 is if high voltage electricity was a concern. My humble opinion-YMMV.

I would take my Model BT and I'll tell you why...
My BT is cord wrapped.
We are talking base survival situation here no other tools but my Strider.

1. Para cord is a great thing to have in a survival situation. (Many uses)
2. The BT can be used for spear fishing by lashing it to a length of wood.
3. The BT chops well. I have cut down several trees with it.
4. Size, it is easy to carry and quick into action.

There are other uses to numerous to name as to why a STRIDER knife is the BEST survival knife out there.

But I agree with Panzer its like playing only one gun. Which gun is best for which situation. I'd take my M-4 into survival situations but, I'd rather have my knife!

Seal 2001 or MT-L with spine serrations, but they haven't made one yet that I know of. Blade is HD on both of those, or a D-9 or MSC 7.5. Ever gutted fish with a tanto? Not bad, takes a little getting used to.

I carry either my AR or AD. Can't carry my WB since laws don't permit. But I do carry a surefire E2 elite with it.

It is in Nevada if its concealed, but in New York, it has to be less than 4" in blade length.

'Survival'! My favourite topic gear wise and techniques wise.
I must agree with Nyeti that MT-L is an excellent choice for all round use. My other favourites all-round usage knives (including chopping, digging etc) are the 6.5"/7.7" Mick's customs and Ajax (prefer flat ground ).Digging & chopping is for real survival situations if you really have to do that.
You will be happy with any of the above but price wise, the MT-L is the best bet! :)
Warmest wishes,
Oliver

I would have to go with my cord wrapped MH. It is just a good all around knife for outdoor chores.
