So, I'm. Looking at the gso 3.5. I own a swamprat rodent solution and I really like it but it's 3/16 thick and just a bit thick for such a short blade. Can anyone show me comparison pics of the gso 3.5 with other popular knives and any commentary would be welcome.

Handle length is important to me, I found the Esee standard handles to short for my preference. So I'm curious to see it in hand as well.

Also thinking of paring with a gso 6.

Thanks

I don't have any good comparisons for you, but here are 2 pics in my hand. I wear size small Mechanix gloves. Also, any pics available will be old spec models.

Hi man. I can help here, probably too much ;) The 3.5 is much thinner than the RS, and definitely cuts much better as-received. I love the 'Solution handles but the 3.5 is very good too. Here's a shot with some larger blades.

With a Ratweiler CG

Not a close up, but a lot of steel to compare to. Note: Those are not Rodent Solutions, they are Custom shop or HK-hacked Rodent Trails, so slightly longer than the RS.

I just so happened to take a pic the other day with an RS and 3.5. Hope it helps you out.

Can you give any feedback comparing ergonomics of both knives? Is the gso as comfortable?

Hey, J, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, I posted yesterday during a lull at work. As far as ergonomics go, there are features I like with each.

While I prefer a bit of a palm swell like the 3.5 has, I find the narrower portions a bit too narrow. I also prefer the handle thickness of the RS plus that it widens as it gets closer to the butt. But, the 3.5 is significantly thinner behind the edge, so I tend to go to it more often over the RS.

I guess it boils down to I like them both. :D

Here's a couple more pics.

What is that last knife in the picture called?
